August Newsletter 2013

Dear parents, students and friends,
I hope you had a great summer and had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather!
Welcome back to all our returning students and a very big welcome to all our new students.
We are delighted to welcome you to our school and have an exciting year planned!
Some news and updates for you since June…
I am delighted to announce that Ms Sinead Keenan has joined our staff. Sinead will be assisting the teachers throughout the school. We are very happy to have her on our staff and welcome her to the MQI community.
Huge thanks for all the hard work and effort put in by last year’s Parents Association. The amount of money raised, and fun we had was exceptional. We also got lots of jobs done around the school with your help. Thank you for all the support! There will be an AGM held in the next few weeks to select the new committee and discuss plans for this year. Please get involved in any way you can. Your involvement will help to maximise your child’s educational experience.
We are happy to say that we have an improved heating system this year! A new burner was installed during the summer and works are almost finished. Many thanks to Michael Mooney for giving up so much of his time to manage and monitor the work. The whole system has been flushed and resealed and is working efficiently. This improvement is a huge benefit to the school as heating oil was one of our biggest spends in the past. With the new system the school should be warmer in the Winter and our use of oil should be far more efficient.
Class groups for this year are:
Senior Room- Ms Coyne: 4th, 5th & 6th Class
Middle Room-Ms Watters: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Class
Junior Room-Ms Nagle: Junior & Senior Infants
